I am constantly on the hunt for the perfect pencil sharpener. I searched frantically for one that doesn’t clog easily, but my search was fruitless. I had to resort to sharpening my pencils with an x-acto knife. I wonder if the pencil sharpener of my dreams lies somewhere inside the Paul A. Johnson Pencil Sharpener Museum. This gigantic collection of pencil sharpeners is located in Logan, Ohio, and took more than 20 years to collect.
From Atlas Obscura:
“Just like any museum, the collection has been meticulously cataloged and kept in protective cases. There are sharpening cars, toys, Garfields, Mickeys, Tweetybirds, tractors, airplanes, trains, American presidents, panda bears. There are old and new. , and some shelf classics that you generally only see in the library.”
