The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) takes over “Sin City” via the UFC Las Vegas mixed martial arts (MMA) event, which takes place TONIGHT (Saturday, March 11, 2023) on ESPN+ from the Virgin Hotels Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada. UFC Las Vegas will be headlined by former 135-pound champion Petr Yan, who takes on third-ranked Merab Dvalishvili in five rounds of bantamweight action. The UFC Las Vegas co-main event will feature a top 15 heavyweight battle pitting No. 8 ranked Alexander Volkov against No. 14 ranked Alexandr Romanov. Elsewhere on the card, Ryan Spann and Nikita Krylov pick up where they left off at UFC Vegas 70 after “The Miner” was a late scratch due to illness.

Kick followed by a serious low kick. Gravely shoots, deflected. 1-2. Henry’s combo, which is getting better in their exchanges so far. Two minutes in. Serious shots, deflected by the groove. They fight for position on the fence. Knees from Henry responded in kind. Two more minutes.

Elbow by Gravely on a break. Good body shots. Henry takes him down with a jerk and a side kick. The combination fails. One more minute. Low kick and straight right for Henry. A power double puts Gravely on top at the base of the fence. Henry gets up and tries to break the body lock. Gravely Grand Elevator. Henry catches a kimura at the last second. 10-9 Henry.

125 lbs.: JJ Aldrich vs. Ariana Lipski

1st round: Lipski orthodox, Aldrich south. Lipski’s counter combination to answer the right hook. Counter kick by Aldrich in a minute. Another counter combo catches Aldrich in the draw. Exchange of jabs. Two minutes in. Both mostly at a distance. Aldrich shoots, eats knees and a right on the way out. Lipski’s treacherous elbow. 1-2. Double right from Aldrich. A timely level change brings her to a body lock. Two more minutes.

Lipski punches, falls to his knees and separates. A quick headbutt. More knees from Lipski in the clinch. One more minute. Aldrich shoots again, eats more knees for his trouble. Straight left. Lipksi follows the knee with a straight right that hurts Aldrich, then chases it down to the bell. 10-9 Lipski.

Round 2: Sharp 3-2 from Aldrich, who lands a straight right in return. Heavy Lipski surge. One minute. Lipski in the body. Aldrich 1-2 and low kick. Lipski just misses with a head kick, then catches Aldrich coming in with a combination two minutes later. Quick change. Aldrich fakes a level change, dodges a front kick, lands a jab. He met Lipski’s low kick with his right hand. Two more minutes.

A tough shift at center. Aldrich shoots again but can’t finish. Lipski to the body. Body kick. One more minute. Both countries right hand. Exchange. Aldrich shoots, denied, eats knees. 10-9 Lipski.

Round 3: Right hooks for Aldrich. 3-2. Her angle screams for attack. 1-2 Lipski in return, so another difficult combination. Low blow. One minute in. Lipski with 1-2 down. Aldrich fakes a level change. A solid blow. Lipski’s counter right. Aldrich gives up and they switch. Two minutes in. Lipski 1-2 down. Aldrich with another missed shot, eats a heavy combo. Aldrich goes super deep again on the takedown, but can’t hold it. Two more minutes.

Aldrich attempts an outward journey, but cannot. A knee to the head. An outside trip from Lipski and knees to the body with a minute to go. They separated 20 seconds later. Aldrich body kick, Lipski low kick. Lipski lands another combo and a hip toss when Aldrich shoots. 10-9 Lipski.

Final result: Lipski def. Aldrich by unanimous decision


125 lbs.: Tyson Nam vs. Bruno Silva

Round 1: Low kick from Silva at the start. We are slowly making progress. Silva low kick, blocks counter right. Nam 1-2 met the front kick on the ground floor. 2-3 from Silva in a minute. Low kick to fail level change. A clean nimble fist that Nam eats with no problem. Silva lands a circling leg kick and Nam tries to come back again with a straight right. Two minutes. Low kick exchange. Silva shoots well while circling and Nam waits for his opportunities. Silva shoots, deflects. Two more minutes.

Heavy counter immediately from Nama after avoiding a backfist. Nam continues to try to take him down as 2-1 bounces off him. Transfer over Silva’s hand, fake level change to left hook. One more minute. Nam with the right down; he scores more and more successes as the round progresses. Reverse fist from Silva. Silva body kick, Nam counter right. Nam chases him and hits him with a solid body, then a right down. 10-9 Nam about the later work.

Round 2: Nam stays on the front foot, pumps a jab. Silva punishes his aggression with a front kick to the jaw that sends Nam jumping to the mat. Somehow he manages to survive and close the guard. One minute. Nam tries to explode to the feet and Silva immediately rolls up the RNC, driving hooks in and choking Nam unconscious in seconds.

Final result: Silva def. Name according to the technical description (rear bare choke)


170 lbs.: Carlston Harris vs. Jared Gooden

Round 1: Gooden with low hands as usual. Body kick and low kick. A powerful low kick that Harris can’t quite counter. Shopping in the center. Harris tries some armbars and tries unsuccessfully to tie the minute. Overhand right and left from Harris, who absorbs another low blow. Gooden continues to hit and eats one in return. Low kick exchange. Gooden to the body after two minutes. With a powerful jab, Gooden pawed at his nose, and Harris was stalking him. Quick counters from Gooden. Counter left, eats a piece right. More aggressiveness from Haris. A powerful rush that Gooden absorbs with two minutes to go.

Harris shoots, can’t finish, drops a knee on the way out. They trade with the left. Good rush, chop right by Harris in return. Some fun exchanges back and forth. Gooden continues to dig down right. One more minute. Gooden lands punches, eats a two-part counter. Nasty elbow from Harris, he fights back. An exchange of hands in the last seconds. Big elbows from Harris after pushing Gooden to the fence. 10-9 Harris.

Round 2: Early level change from Harris, who puts Gooden on the fence. Trading short punches inside. One minute. A better level change this time and he throws Gooden to the mat, taking half guard. Short hand strikes from the top. Now some elbows two minutes in. Considering the triangle of hands with two minutes to go.

Harris continues to separate from half guard. Gooden tries to face him and Harris grabs a front headlock with a minute left. Back to side control, then mount on the bell. 10-9 Harris.

Round 3: Harris shoots, can’t land, grabs a front headlock instead. Looking back, one hook. He spins into mount minute with a potential arm triangle. Gooden pulls his head out, still stuck in an elbow-eating mount. Gooden breaks free and gets to his feet, where Harris changes levels again at two minutes. Another successful takedown puts Gooden in his place. Gooden makes up for it, only to eat a huge left hook and get knocked down again with two minutes left.

Harris breaks away as he looks for the backside. Gooden explodes again, avoiding the anaconda choke, but Harris just grabs back and pulls him down with a minute left. Side control for “Mocambique”, elbow landing. Back to half guard before the bell. 10-9 Harris.

Final score: Harris def. Good by unanimous decision
