LeBron James did not hide his delight as the Los Angeles Lakers continue to climb the Western Conference standings.
On Friday, the Lakers beat the Toronto Raptors 122-112 behind big games from D’Angelo Russell and Dennis Schroder. Despite the fact that Anthony Davis has struggled in the contest, it hasn’t slowed down the Purple and Gold, who have now won their last two games and seven of their last 10.
Darwin Ham’s men improved to 33-34 on the campaign, good for ninth in the West and just one game behind the sixth-seeded Dallas Mavericks.
Of course, LeBron was shouted at with the last victory of the Lakers. He remains sidelined as he recovers from a nagging foot injury, but the rest of the team is really doing their best to improve their chances of making the postseason.
“Man I love this team!!!” LeBron wrote on Twitter.
The Lakers finally turned it around after a terrible 5-0 start to the season. They have a real shot at making the playoffs with an automatic berth, and even the absence of LeBron James isn’t affecting their confidence as they try to finish the season with a bang.
It remains to be seen when LeBron will be able to return and help the Lakers in their quest for the playoffs, but his teammates are certainly buying him plenty of time to focus on his recovery. Hopefully sooner or later James can rejoin LA’s roster and actually join in the celebration on the court as LA continues to win.
