Update for latest…: Paramount/Spyglass Medias Scream VI has carved out a franchise record opening at the global box office with $67.1 milliontopping Scream 3 for the best of the bunch of this long-running Kevin Williamson-created series. At the international box office, it also set a franchise-best start with $22.6 million from 53 markets, a whopping 60% over 2022 Scream. Domestic was also a record launch.
Ghostface’s return got the best start for the franchise in 29 individual markets, including the UK, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Italy and the Netherlands.
From filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and cast Wednesday phenomenon jenna ortega anal Scream VI‘s best reveal was in the United Kingdom with $3.6 million. from 627 locations, 22% over last year’s entry. France debuted at $3.5M. at 427, 110% over Scream 2022. Both Great Britain and France landed No. 2 bows behind Creed III which showed strong staying power (more on that below).
Australia gave Scream VI a No. 1 start with $2M. from 262 sites, 45% ahead of last year Scream. Mexico also grossed $2M, at #2, for 55% more scares than the previous film; and Brazil had a No. 1 launch with $1.8M. (55% over Scream).

Generally this weekend though, it was MGM’s Creed III there were top internationals with $24 million from 75 markets. The threequel, released by Warner Bros overseas (save the Nordics), was down 43%, and like-for-likes still trails its predecessors: 110% over Creed and 35% above Creed II. The international cue up to and including Sunday is $78 million with global at $179.4 million.
France continues to lead the game with $12.4M, followed by United Kingdom ($11.3 million), Germany ($7.9 million), Italy ($5.9 million) and Mexico ($5.9 million).
Disney/Marvel’s Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania have reached $249.6 million internationally after a $9.8 million weekend in 52 markets (-56%). The global cume to date is $447.6 million. In like-for-likes, except for China, Quantum has exceeded the first Ant man the film’s full run by 10% and is 13% below Ant-Man and the Wasp‘s ultimate statement.
Top 5 markets are China ($39 million), the United Kingdom ($22.1 million), Mexico ($17.4 million), France ($12.6 million) and Korea ($12.5 million).
